Ok, so I finally did it! I dove in, took the plunge,
stepped-out-on-faith, and started my own Blog. WELCOME!! I’ve wanted to do this
F-O-R-E-V-E-R, since discovering what fashion blogs even were from a friend of
mine “Rush Hour Fashion” who has her own wonderful fashion space on the net. S/N:
What vacuum had I been living in?!!
I began searching the internet feverishly for other blogs,
and spent hours (at the expense of work sometimes-hehe!) searching for other
blogs, and bloggers whose style ‘spoke’ to me. And to my delight there were
tons of you. That was 2 ½ years ago and I refused to let year three roll around
and not begin contributing my voice.
What stopped me? What held me up from starting my own Blog?
My own skepticism and fear that I would have nothing ‘new’ to add. Would anyone
read what I had to say? Would anyone connect to how I look? Plain and simple,
would you all LIKE me? While I don’t think the market is saturated, because the
plus-size arena can always improve, I didn’t want to be identified as JUST
another plus size blogger. I think we are so much more than that.
It was wonderful to know that in the net-sphere there are
wonderful woman that have the same interest as me: clothes and crafts, shoes
and sewing, poetry and photography, music and ….food. (Couldn’t think of an ‘m’
for food)!
I don’t know all the lingo, all the morays and norms, all
the jargon of blogging yet, so I ask for your patience. I don’t know how my
little space in the atmosphere will evolve. I have ideas, but no formula. So, I
plan to post how I feel. This is my first step. Consequently, what is my goal?
I want this blog to my outlet, my release. I want this move to be my motivation
to not be afraid in other areas of my life. It is my foray into a more
well-rounded me. Yes, I do believe that it can be all that and more.
As times goes on I hope to get to ‘know’ more of you and I
hope you are willingly to do the same with me.
So, I hope you will follow me on this journey of
self-discovery as I attempt to defy what has always defined me.
